Why We Come Back

26 Sep

A poem (that tries different things in each verse – and also may be revised at a later date) titled: Why We Come Back

The scratching of the pen
Skillfully crossing the “t’s”
Delicately dotting the “I’s”
The curvatious comma
A pounding stop at the end

A wondrous writer throws Monsters on a page
Some are hopefully happy
Some are stunningly sad
Others are filled with evil
Or immersed in love

Monsters creep and slither inside
Tug at your soul; Break your heart
A venomous fear spreads over you
Depression, pain, hope and pride
Destroy the barricades holding back the tears

The Monsters come together to make a story
Simple as it may seem
Down onto the page; your dream
The one that rides over a cumulonimbus
Then passes a singing crab “Under the Sea”

Seemingly simple stories
Creative complex characters
One thing remains the same
These Monsters on the page
Meet their fate by the daunting

“The End”
